Coastal Care Services, Inc. Effective March 1, 2018

Effective March 1, 2018, Coastal Care Services, Inc. (Coastal) will be the new home health and durable medical equipment vendor for Wellcare of Florida, Inc. d/b/a Staywell Health Plan of Florida (Staywell) in Regions 8 (Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry, Lee and Sarasota counties) and Region 11(Miami-Dade and Monroe counties).

Coastal will be responsible for home health services, DME and supplies, and in home therapy on behalf of Staywell. Coastal will perform network management, utilization management, credentialing and claims processing for the aforementioned services. Coastal will also be responsible for these services and equipment on behalf of Staywell’s affiliated Florida Healthy Kids and Medicare Advantage health plans in Regions 8, 9, 10 and 11.

Staywell will continue to manage home health services and DME and supplies in all other operating Medicaid Regions (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7). Providers that are out-of-network as of February 28, 2018 will be eligible for a 60 day continuity of care period where claims will be payable to allow time for members to transition their home health and durable medical equipment provider, if necessary. Impacted members were notified by mail on December 28, 2017. The continuity of care period ends on May 1, 2018.

On April 22, 2024, UnitedHealth Group issued a press release, providing an update on the Change Healthcare cybersecurity incident that occurred on Feb. 21, 2024.
