Sunshine Health is excited to announce that we are expanding the number of transportation service providers to better serve our members and get them to needed medical appointments.
Starting January 1, 2021, new transportation subcontractors will be implemented for Sunshine Health and WellCare of Florida. We are educating members about these important changes, but we also want you to be aware of the transportation services we provide to get members to needed care, and the upcoming changes.
As a Sunshine Health or WellCare of Florida network provider, you may be asked to identify member transportation needs, coordinate standing care orders or assist members with completing mileage reimbursement trip logs.<
We created a Quick Reference Sheet to highlight transportation service providers. We selected a service provider to care for our members by line of business, including Medicaid, Long Term Care and Medicare, to better meet our members’ unique needs. Each service provider offers at least two ways our members can schedule rides to make it easy and convenient. Members can schedule current or future rides, as well as recurring trips with a standing order.
Subcontractors by Line of Business
- Medicare changes effective January 1, 2021: LogistiCare will begin handling transportation for WellCare Medicare members. They will continue serving Allwell Medicare members.
- Medicaid changes effective February 1, 2021: LogistiCare will begin handling transportation for Staywell Medicaid and Serious Mental Illness members. They will continue serving Sunshine Health Medicaid and Child Welfare members.
- Long Term Care changes effective February 1, 2021: Alivi will begin handling transportation for Sunshine Health members, Staywell Long Term Care members, and Comprehensive Long Term Care members.
- Children’s Medical Services Health Plan members will continue to receive services from Medical Transportation Management (MTM).
