25-1394 Reminder: Complete Cultural Humility and Competency Training by December 31

Empower inclusive care by meeting your compliance requirements

To support equitable, culturally responsive care, and to meet compliance requirements under the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) All Plan Letter (APL) 24-016, plan contracts, and/or NCQA1 Health Equity and Accreditation standards, all physicians, health care providers, staff, subcontractors, and downstream subcontractors must complete the Cultural Humility, Competency and Equity in Healthcare training.2 

Who must complete the training and when?

  • New hires: Within 90 days of start date and annually thereafter.
  • Existing providers: Annually by December 31.

Ongoing compliance responsibilities

Independent practice associations, physicians, other providers and affiliated organizations must:

  • Ensure all direct patient care providers complete the training.
  • Track completion and collect attestations for group/onsite sessions.
  • Maintain records for audits and compliance verification.

Submit an attestation from another plan’s training

If you completed the training with another health plan, submit attestation at https://rebrand.ly/HN-Cultural-Humility-Training. Completion will be shared across all plans.
