Over the Counter

As a part of your plan, you have an Over-the-Counter (OTC) benefit. We give you a fixed dollar amount to buy the OTC medications and products you need to stay well. These are everyday things like bandages, pain relievers, cold remedies, toothpaste and much more. You have the flexibility of purchasing items at a participating retail location or ordering through our catalog. We will even ship your items right to your door at no additional cost to you.

Your OTC benefit and any OTC items you purchase are exclusively for you.

How to Use Your OTC Benefit

Find the item you want in the OTC catalog and call us. You can also view OTC products in our secure member portal. Once you log in, click on the “Shop Over The Counter” button in the Digital Pharmacy section. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one. You can also visit a participating retailer to purchase eligible items.

On April 22, 2024, UnitedHealth Group issued a press release, providing an update on the Change Healthcare cybersecurity incident that occurred on Feb. 21, 2024. Given the size of the data impacted, the investigation to determine whose data is impacted is expected to take several months. UnitedHealth Group believes this situation will impact “a substantial proportion of people in America” and is offering immediate credit monitoring and identity protection services, as well as a dedicated contact center to address questions.
