Simplify, Submit, and Track Authorizations—All in Availity Essentials
If you are submitting your authorization requests by fax or phone, you can make the switch to Availity Essentials and streamline workflows between your organization and Fidelis Care. Availity speeds up the authorization submission process and provides you with real-time status visibility in one secure location.
If you already have an account with Availity, all you need is the Authorization & Referral Request role and Authorization & Referral Inquiry role to submit and follow up on your authorization requests. Contact your organization’s Availity administrator to grant you the role assignments.
What’s New on Availity Essentials Authorizations
Fidelis Care launched the Concurrent Review / Continued Stay feature on Availity in January—making it even easier to move away from phone and fax submissions. With Concurrent Review, you can use the Add Attachments feature in Availity’s Authorization application to upload additional clinical documentation. This helps support continued stay requests for inpatient authorizations that have already been determined, meet certain criteria, and are still active (the patient has not been discharged).
Coming Soon: Request for Additional Information (RFAI)
Requests from Fidelis Care utilization management teams for additional clinical documentation, which you receive today via fax or phone, will be available electronically in Availity. Look for communications to announce the launch of this new capability.*
*Prior to the launch of the RFAI feature and for certain notifications following the launch, the UM team may need to communicate with you via fax to request clinical documentation or send notifications about your submitted authorization by fax.
To ensure you receive these communications, please enter a valid fax number in all required fields within the Availity Essentials authorization application. Providing accurate contact information helps support timely communication and efficient processing of your authorization requests.
