Effective July 1, 2014, WellCare acquired Healthfirst’s Medicaid business in New Jersey. Approximately 42,000 members will be covered under our benefit plans and continue to be cared for by our provider network. Members will remain enrolled and experience no changes in their covered benefits or services.
Additionally, we are expanding into five new counties beginning July 1, 2014: Bergen, Mercer, Morris, Somerset and Sussex. These will be in addition to those in which we currently operate (Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Passaic and Union).

Claims Submission
For services prior to July 1, 2014, please visit the Healthfirst website and login with your previous user name and password. If you need to speak with a Customer Service representative regarding services prior to July 1, 2014, please call 866-889-2523 (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Eastern). For services dated on or after July 1, 2014, please register for the WellCare Provider Portal to submit claims and check claims status.
