Q: How do I contact Member Services?

A: Just give us a call. Our toll-free number is 1-800-322-6027.

Q: What is a primary care provider (PCP)?

A: A PCP is the provider, nurse or clinic in our network who will be your main health care provider.

Q: What if I need a specialist?

A: Your PCP will refer you to a specialist in our network.

Q: What if I need medical advice in the middle of the night or while out of town?

A: If you need urgent health care when you are away from home, call your PCP or Missouri Care at 1-800-322-6027 for help. In an emergency, you do not need to call your PCP first. Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.

  • Call your PCP after an emergency room visit.
  • Get your follow up care from your PCP.
  • Routine health care services must be received from your PCP when you get back home.
  • All services outside the United States and its Territories are not covered.

Q: Should I go to the emergency room when my PCP isn’t available?

A: In a true emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Get emergency care when you feel your health is in serious danger – when every second counts. Examples of emergencies include:
  • Chest pain
  • Stroke
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Bad burns
  • Deep cuts
  • Heavy bleeding
  • Gunshot wounds

Q: What if I lose my Missouri Care member ID card?

A: Call Member Services at 1-800-322-6027. A new card will be sent out right away. If you lose your red or white MO HealthNet health insurance card, you should contact your local Family Support Division (FSD) office.

Q: How can a person in MO HealthNet Managed Care change health plans?

A: A person in MO HealthNet Managed Care may switch health plans during open enrollment or in cases of medical necessity. Need to find out about open enrollment dates and more? Call the MO HealthNet Managed Care Enrollment Help Line at 1-800-348-6627.

Q: I want to keep seeing my Behavioral Health provider. What do I need to do?

A: Is your provider part of our network, or in the process of joining our network? If so, you can continue seeing your provider with no break in treatment. Missouri Care does not limit the number of behavioral health visits you can have each year. You do not need our approval for a behavioral health visit. Do you have questions? Call 1-800-322-6027 for behavioral health services and for help finding a provider within our network.

Q: I need outpatient behavioral health treatment now. What should I do?

A: Find a provider through our online Find A Provider page. Or you can call Missouri Care at 1-800-322-6027 for help finding a provider.
