WellCare Preferred Drug List Search Tool
There are three ways to search:
- Alphabetical Search
Click on the first letter of the drug you are searching. - Brand and Generic Name Search
Type the drug name you are searching in the box. - Therapeutic Class Search
Choose the therapeutic class (what the drug does and how it’s used) of the drug you are searching.

Read about:
- Possible drug interactions (Found within the Drug Interaction Checker under Quick Links)
- Common side effects (Found within Medications under Quick Links)
- Significant risks (Found within Medications under Quick Links)
Search results definitions
Brand Name/Generic Name: Generic drugs are shown in lowercase italics. Brand name drugs are shown in CAPITAL LETTERS.
Therapeutic Class/Sub-Class: Shows the drug’s class and sub-class. Both the class and sub-class link to a listing of all formulary drugs within that category.
Dose/Strength: Shows the drug’s dosage form and strength.
Status: Shows the drug’s status (tier number or non-formulary).
Notes and Restrictions: Shows any formulary restrictions on medications such as quantity limits, prior authorizations or step therapy requirements.
Formulary Alternative(s): Shows alternative drugs available within the formulary.
