Seasonal Flu
This year, members 6 months and older should get a flu shot. This shot protects against the flu. It can also protect you from the H1N1 virus that caused so much illness two seasons ago. One way to stay safe is to stay informed. Visit FLU.GOV to keep up-to-date.
WellCare offers flu shots to its members at no cost. You can get a flu shot at your provider’s office, a participating pharmacy or clinic. Some participating pharmacies are:
• CVS Caremark
• Walgreens
• Rite Aid
• Kroger
• Longs Drugs
• Medicine Shoppe
• Target
Please call Customer Service if you need help finding a participating provider. The number can be found on the back of your ID card. Additional Information can be found at www.webmd.com (This is a public Internet site that has information on health care, pharmacy information, and a symptom checklist).
STD and HIV Services
The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene facilities offer free and confidential STD/HIV services for non-enrolled sexual and needle-sharing partners. Services include education, HIV testing, medical evaluation, treatment and other preventive services.
For help call the New York State HIV Counseling Hotline. Call 1-800-872-2777 or 1-800-541-AIDS. If you know someone who injects drugs, they can get help to quit, and take steps to reduce their risk for disease and protect others.
