Medicaid : Florida Healthease

Did You Know?

Medicaid is the state and federal partnership that provides health coverage for selected categories of children and adults with low incomes. If you are eligible for Medicaid and would like to learn more about joining HealthEase, or if you would like to see if you qualify for Florida’s Medicaid program, please call 1-888-367-6554 (TDD: 1-800-653-9803) to speak with a representative.

You have the freedom to choose your personal doctor from our network of experienced physicians, pediatricians and internists. You make your own appointments. Important Update

Beginning September 1, 2011, certain drugs for children 13 and under will require that a parent or legal guardian complete a signed consent form. A separate form will be needed for each prescribed drug. Medicaid will not pay for these drugs without the signed form. You and your doctor will need to be able to provide a copy of the form when it is required. Refills prior to September 1, 2011 will not be denied.

Your benefits are not changing. This is just a change in how certain drugs will be filled.   We have told your doctor about this change.  They will get in touch with you if you need to complete a signed consent form.  If you have any questions please call Customer Service. They can be reached at 1-800-278-0656 (TTY/TDD: at 1-877-247-6272) Monday through Friday, 7am to 7pm Eastern.  Please see the list for the drugs impacted by this change.

Seasonal Flu

This year, members 6 months and older should get a flu shot.  This shot protects against the flu.  It can also protect you from the H1N1 virus that caused so much illness two seasons ago. One way to stay safe is to stay informed.  Visit FLU.GOV to keep up-to-date.  HealthEase offers flu shots to its members at no cost. You can get a flu shot at your provider’s office, a participating pharmacy or clinic.   Some participating pharmacies are:

• CVS Caremark
• Walgreens
• Rite Aid
• Kroger
• Longs Drugs
• Medicine Shoppe
• Target

Please call Customer Service if you need help finding a participating provider.  The number can be found on the back of your ID card.  Additional Information can be found at www.webmd.com (This is a public Internet site that has information on health care, pharmacy information, and a symptom checklist).
